So I thought I could steal wifi in my hostel room since the hostel offers in for free but apparently I can only get it in the common room so entries might not be as frequent as you or I were hoping for but here goes nothing!
First off I would like to point out that while I love my mother dearly I am never EVER taking her anywhere again, and I have been reminding her of this on a regular basis for the last two days. First we were on our way to the airport when she realized that she had forgotten her coat and we had to turn all the way back around to go get it. And then last night we got lost in Dublin trying to find our way back to the hostel from the grocery store and while I was content with wandering until we found Aston Quay she kept wanting to ask for directions but refusing to ask her self until I finally gave up and asked some guy who was having a cigarette how to get to Temple Bar. Although I must give my mom props, we went out for dinner last night and she tried Traditional Irish Stew and Irish Soda Bread and even participated in the conversation with the random strangers at the table next to us that are also traveling through Ireland right now. That's right, I'm talking to strangers, sorry guys; but I promise not take candy from a stranger.
The flight was not bad, although right before boarding we discovered that we weren't seated together so we convinced a gentleman to switch seats with me so we could sit next to one another. The flight actually got into London an hour early which was nice since Heathrow is HUGE and neither of us had ever been before and hadn't an idea of where to go. Flying into Dublin was a short flight and looking out the window the cloud cover was so solid it looked like a snowy mountainside. Once we got to the airport we had the task of attempting to find out way to the hostel, luckily the man at the bus terminal was very nice and gave us better directions than the hostel had and it was quite quick and painless.
Our hostel however nice and homey it is, our room is TINY and the water pressure in the shower is not fresh tattoo friendly. I'm off to USIT this morning for my orientation and mom's going to go shopping and attempt not to get lost. Then we'll probably wander around St. Stephen's Greens for awhile. Photo's to come!
